[NYC] The New Yorker Hotel: General Manager, Director of Sales & Marketing, Director of Finance

1920’s New York is on everyone’s lips, following Baz Luhrmann’s revamp of The Great Gatsby. And while the city has lived a thousand lifetimes since then, a few special spots keep that vintage charm alive.

The New Yorker Hotel is an historical icon, pre-dating both the Empire State and Chrysler buildings. At 43 stories and 2,500 rooms, it was a modern marvel of the late 1920’s, a feat of architecture that symbolized the booming industrial revolution.

Fast-forward a century, and this stately hotel is still standing strong. It’s had a few facelifts over the years, modernized and upgraded with the latest technology and amenities. But one thing has and always will be preserved: that classic Art Deco appeal.

A Manhattan mainstay on the Upper West Side, Lincoln Center sets the stage for internationally acclaimed performers and prodigies. The perfect complement to this array of art forms lies just off stage-left, a culinary companion. Executive Chef Jonathan Benno (awarded “The World Ambassador of White Truffles of Alba” last year [1] ), puts a modern spin on Italian classics. “My mission is to translate traditional pan-Italian recipes for today’s New York,” Chef Benno tells IN New York Magazine [2] . The reginette verdi al ragú Bolognese, for instance, features ruffled green pasta. “Reginette verdi is not only fun, it’s the perfect vehicle for a ragú,” he says, adding “a bit of chicken liver to the usual pork and beef, for a wonderfully meaty taste.”

The Alfus Group partnered with Patina Restaurant Group to place Lincoln’s Director of Private Dining & Events in December, 2012. Lincoln Ristorante is a culinary staple of New York City, in the heart of a cultural epicenter. Their doors are open daily for lunch, pre-theater, dinner and weekend brunch.
